Disassembly and assembly of the slide valve pump

Disassembly and assembly of the slide valve pump

In this article, we will discuss the disassembly and assembly process of the slide valve pump. The slide valve pump works similarly to the rotary vane pump, but there are some differences in the disassembly and assembly processes. Both types of pumps use vacuum oil mist separators for exhaust filtration.
The disassembly process of the slide valve pump is as follows:

  1. Drain the cooling water and vacuum pump oil, remove the belt guard, take off the V-belt and pulley;
  2. Remove the oil tank assembly, dismantle the vacuum oil mist separator assembly, take out the vacuum oil filter assembly, then remove the exhaust pipe, dismantle the exhaust valve assembly, and finally remove the intake pipe;
  3. Remove the oil pipes and oil pump shaft;
  4. Dismantle the sealing accessories and bearing cover, take out the left and right end covers and bearings, and then dismantle the slide valve assembly and guide rail assembly;
  5. Remove the eccentric wheel key and shaft.

The assembly process of the slide valve pump is the reverse of the disassembly process. During the disassembly and assembly process, pay attention to the condition of the vacuum oil mist separator and pump oil.
Points to note during disassembly:

  1. Do not directly strike machined surfaces with a hammer to avoid damage during disassembly and assembly;
  2. Clean and dry all parts before installation;
  3. Ensure that there is no air or oil leakage at the sealed locations after assembly. Check the seal ring of the slide valve pump filter and all other sealing components;
  4. After assembly, perform a full performance test on the pump. If testing conditions are not available, at least test the pump’s ultimate vacuum degree.
    These are the basic steps for the disassembly and assembly of the slide valve pump. If you have any questions, please consult BTLAS.
