The Correct Way to Replace Vacuum Filter

The vacuum pump filter, a vital component within the vacuum pump, plays a pivotal role in maintaining stable pump operation by filtering out impurities. Over time, however, the filter’s efficacy diminishes. To sustain optimal production equipment performance, Btlas is here to guide you through the correct method of replacing your vacuum pump filter.

Step 1: Gathering Supplies and Preparation to Replace Vacuum Filter

Begin by selecting a high-quality replacement vacuum pump filter , ensuring that its specifications, material, size, O-ring material, and model align with those of your vacuum pump.

Power down the vacuum pump and verify that the system is fully halted.

Gather necessary tools, including removal equipment, collection containers, and clean cloths.

Step 2: Removing the Old Vacuum Pump Filter

Replace vacuum pump filter to improve your vacuum pump efficiency

Clean the housing of the vacuum pump filter and clear the surrounding area, ensuring ample working space.

Don suitable protective gear.

Disconnect the filter to be replaced from the system. Gradually open the top exhaust port of the filter to release pressure, taking care to prevent splashing of materials or liquids.

Once pressure is relieved, open the filter cover using proper tools, and gently extract the old filter element. Wrap the used element in a plastic bag for proper disposal.

Thoroughly clean the interior of the filter housing using cleaning tools and cloths.

Step 3: Installing the New Vacuum Pump Filter

1.Open the plastic bag containing the new vacuum pump filter. Confirm the integrity and placement of the O-ring.

2.Install the filter element with material inflow from the outer side and outflow from the inner side.

3.Employ a suitable wetting agent (like water) to moisten both the O-ring and the filter socket.

4.Hold the vacuum pump filter’s end near the O-ring and insert the filter socket vertically into the housing. Secure the element by removing the bag and placing the metal cover over the housing.

5.Use appropriate tools to tighten the filter.

Step 4: Final Checks and Testing to Replace Vacuum Filter

Seal the liquid distribution port of the filter.

Open the air release valve on the top of the housing, allowing material to fill the shell until liquid overflows from the valve.

Carefully shut the air release valve and inspect for any potential leakage from reassembled components.

Gradually open the filter outlet valve until it’s fully open.

Step 5: Clean up

Upon completing all steps, ensure thorough cleaning of the work area.

Special Considerations:

Prevent pressure shocks and strictly avoid reverse pressurization.

If the pressure drop between the upstream and downstream of the filter exceeds 0.3 MPa or the flow rate significantly drops, consider replacing the vacuum pump filter.

During installation, diligently adhere to the correct installation direction of the filter element (inside-out).

By following these precise steps, you’ll uphold the efficiency and durability of your vacuum pump, ensuring seamless operation and sustained product quality. A clean environment is vital for the effective function of your vacuum pump filter.
